Wellness Exams

Because our pets cannot tell us when they are sick, the Veterinary Center of Hudson recommends at least yearly medical exams. At VCH, we always examine the head, eyes, ears, nose and throat, the lymph nodes, the heart and lungs, the musculoskeletal system, the skin, abdominal palpation of internal organs, mucous membrane color and capillary refill time, temperature, weight, body condition score, mental status, the teeth and gums, and heart and respiratory rates. Additionally, we may perform schirmer tear tests to monitor for keratoconjuctivitis sicca (dry-eye), indirect or direct ophthalmic exam, otoscopic exam, blood pressure screening, ocular pressure screening, ECG, fecal parasite testing, early disease detection tests including blood work and urinalysis, and radiographs or ultrasounds when needed.
