Cosmetic Reconstructive Surgery:

Through the use of extremely small suture, Dr. Bestic is able to remove and repair eyelid tumors, correct entropion, and limit scar formation while preserving proper function. Such techniques are utilized when performing vulvar episioplasty, repair of a prolapsing third eyelid, also called a cherry eye, and gingival surgery of the mouth during tooth extractions. The use of larger suture causes more pain and inflammation thus increasing the frequency of irritation. This irritation predisposes the animal to scratch, pull and chew out the sutures. Whenever possible, our sutures get buried under the skin thereby decreasing irritation and the risk of opening the incision.
